NBC made a huge deal a couple of weeks ago about Don Cherry joining the studio for the Stanley Cup finals. Yeah, that’ll drive ratings in the United States, a crusty old Canadian dude.
Uh, no. The Anaheim Ducks, they got the hook-up. Last week, a Wild-Ducks intermission featured an appearance from Snoop Dogg, who was at the game with his son. It was riveting from the beginning …
“Yabba dabba dizzle, fo shizzle dizzle!”
To the middle …
“When they was gettin’ ready to start fighting, I was so close, I almost wanted to throw a blow.”
To the end …
“This is big Snoop Dogg on Anaheim Duck hockey. Please don’t change the dizzle my nizzle fo shizzle. We’ll be right bizzle in a mizzle. Fo shizzle.”

To posters on the sjsharks.com board and Chompboard.com,
Many of you deserve some sort of recognition–other than post count–for the funny, witty, informative, and well argued posts that I see at the boards day in and day out.
I am pleased to announce ObsessedSharksFan.com’s Posters of the Day section! The idea came from seeing NHL.com’s “Stars of the Day” and Posters of the Day will be run in a similar fashion. The team I have at obsessedsharksfan.com (additionally, I’d love it if the mods got involved, PM me please!) will be scanning the boards every day and picking our top 3 favorite posters of the day.
15 points will be awarded to the #1 poster.
10 points for #2.
5 points for #3.
Points can be accumulated in several ways: a single post that stands out as being extremely funny (many of the stories that I read here about experiences at the game would no doubt qualify); informative ie: a well researched post–such as the Mogen_David’s post on prospects, or peterborough’s referee project (but certainly they don’t have to be THIS good!); a shockingly good comeback and/or a well argued point. Additionally, a series of posts can also land you post points. Scott Hannan may not have gotten the big goal (ever?) but he recently landed the star of the game for playing well consistently the entire game. Same idea here.
*note - other criteria are involved as well, but are more or less inexplicable.
All of you are both participants and judges at the same time. If you see a post that you think deserves recognition you can leave a “POD” response in the thread or PM me to ensure that I see it.
The poster with the most total points at the end of the 2006-2007 Sharks season will get a free t-shirt of their choice (or accessories of equal value) from obsessedsharksfan.com’s store.

I am proud to announce a new set of contributors to ObsessedSharksFan.com. This site is about to go to a whole new level. As you can see from the blog, we have already added articles from bostonjoe, a writer for the boston bruins, contributor to NHL.com., and longtime diehard Sharks fan.
I have had a wonderful response to the “HELP WANTED” post, and am ecstatic about the future here. Several more contributors, each bringing their own style of enthusiasm, will be announced in the following days.
GO SHARKS! I’m off to the game!
